I downloaded and installed the OPTIS software and received the ANSYS license as a text file from the sales vendor. However, the OPTIS software uses a OPTIS license management that is incompatible with the ANSYS License Management Center.

  You can download at https://support.ansys.com/AnsysCustomerPortal/en_us/Downloads/Current+Release under the Tools section, but you must install the 2020R1 version to run the SPEOS license.

Hi, I just installed ansys but when I try to launch I have an 'error in startup script':

can't read 'env(ANSYS_SYSDIR)': no such variable while executing

• Please try setting the variable ANSYS_SYSDIR with a value of winx64.

• @mmadore no luck. Tried again downloading setup to program files x64 and running setup.exe as admin. No success

• @mmadore what would you like me to insert and where?

• @dslondon1 In your Windows environment variables, create a new variable named ANSYS_SYSDIR with a value of winx64. You shouldn't be adding it to any files or anything else. What file is that that you show in your screenshot, you shouldn't be editing any of the ANSYS files.

• Also, what application or shortcut are you trying to launch when you are encountering the error that prompted this post?
